This playlist follows the innovative works of the Swiss-German artist Paul Klee, whose expressive style was influenced by diverse movements of the early twentieth century, including Expressionism, Cubism, and Surrealism. He nevertheless worked independently from the communal art scene, producing his unique interpretation of contemporary abstract trends. Working in a diversity of mediums and formats, some of his artworks are notably infused with a childlike element of wonder, featuring playful figures of animals and people in geometric or wholly abstract settings, prevalent in this playlist.
